Meghan Markle ‘Nervous’ During First Platinum Jubilee Appearance, Body Language Expert Says
A body language expert has reportedly claimed that Meghan Markle looked “nervous” during a recent appearance in the United Kingdom. She and Prince Harry joined the British Royal Family to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Express UK reported that Jesús Enrique Rosas, also known as the “Body Language Guy” on YouTube, made observations and analyses on the Duchess of Sussex’s actions and movements at the Service of Thanksgiving on Friday. As stated, he specifically discussed what the former working royal did upon exiting the car when they arrived at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The expert reportedly shared that he noticed the former actress fixing her left collar, adding that “something has to be said about pacifying gestures.” He stated that people do this “kind of gesture to calm” themselves.
Rosas is said to have cited some examples of the “gestures” he is referring to, including “fixing [our] clothes” and “touching [our] faces.” In the case of Prince Harry, he was reportedly touching his wedding ring during the engagement.
The body language pro continued that doing these things “is a way to vent stress.” He asserted that “it actually works,” which is why people do it.
However, the expert reportedly pointed out that this sends a message to the world. It shows everyone that the person is “nervous.”
Rosas consequently claimed that Meghan Markle touching and fixing her collar flap was “a very deliberate move.”
The publication included in the same report what Jesús Enrique Rosas told his audience about the Duchess of Sussex’s facial expressions. He said that she was “uncomfortable at times,” noting that people should not “be fooled by [her] smile.”
The body language expert reportedly gave some examples, showing the former working royal, looking uncomfortable. He mentioned the moments when she was standing and smiling during the event, although he emphasized that the “neck muscles are really tense.”
Rosas then added that “there was a good reason for that tension.” He is said to have explained that it was all likely due to the “reaction from the public when they entered the Cathedral.”
The report, later on, revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received a “mixed reception” from the mass. Some even alleged that a mixture of “boos and cheers” were given toward the former working royals.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s appearance at the Service of Thanksgiving on Friday marked their first since leaving the royal life in 2020. Their return to the United Kingdom last week also served as their first as a family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended only a few engagements during the historic celebration. They also flew back to the United States hours before the conclusion of the four-day event.
