Tom Cruise is allegedly forced to reignite an old flame.

In its June 13 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Cruise is forced to try and date his Mission: Impossible co-star, Hayley Atwell again.

After all, the actors' attempts to make Lady Gaga go out with him failed because the singer is in a relationship with a tech mogul.

A source claimed that Cruise and Atwell did not break up last year because they were never officially together. And the latter also made it clear that she wasn’t ready for anything serious at the time.

Shortly after, Cruise was linked to Gaga, who sang one of the songs from the hit movie Top Gun: Maverick. And Atwell was allegedly surprised when the A-listers were linked to each other.

But now that that didn’t materialize, sources are convinced that Cruise and Atwell should try their luck at dating. And as early as now, they already have the support of their friends, as well as Cruise’s adopted children.

“Both Connor and Bella thought Hayley was the one for their dad. They adore her and hold out hope he’ll find a way to win her back. They still communicate with her any chance they get, cheering on her career and raving about what a beautiful person she is both inside and out,” the source said.

The source also claimed that the timing could finally be right for Cruise and Atwell. After all, the actor is on the market to find a girlfriend. He hasn’t dated anyone officially since his split from Katie Holmes in 2012.

“And he’s discreetly put the word out for folks to set him up if someone ultra-special comes along. But everyone’s keeping their fingers and toes crossed that he and Hayley can give it another go. She was loyal to Tom throughout all those dramas, and they had real chemistry too. They’re still on great terms and hang out from time to time,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

Cruise and Atwell didn’t date and they were only linked to each other by the tabloids. So, if the A-listers didn’t date then there’s no relationship for them to revisit.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just pitting the two with each other because they are both single.
