Hilary Duff Once Revealed She Does ‘Not Always Like’ Her Children
Hilary Duff has remained open and vocal about her thoughts on motherhood over the years. She even once revealed that does not always like her children despite her utmost love for them.
Cheat Sheet recently reported that the 34-year-old songstress made the statement in a piece she wrote for Refinery29 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She talked about motherhood in the material titled, “We’re Going To Let Our Kids Down & We’re Going To Mess Up, But That’s Just Part Of Motherhood.”
In the middle of her write-up, Duff emphasized that she loves her children “more than anything.” She even added that she “cannot imagine not being a parent.”
The celebrity stated, however, that she does “not always like them.” She explained that she would “constantly” clean up after her children, adding that “it is absolutely exhausting.”
Even so, Hilary Duff pointed out that “it is also the best, most rewarding thing.”
It was not the first time, though, that the “Lizzie McGuire” star made a “straightforward” comment about her children. In December 2019, she posted a photo on her official Instagram account and wrote a “very vulnerable caption about motherhood.”
A separate report from Cheat Sheet covered the matter at the time. It noted that the photo features her two older children, smiling and kissing each other.
Hilary Duff wrote in the caption, “My kids are annoying the living s*** out of me today.” She continued, “then they go and do this and make me feel so guilty.”
The “So Yesterday” singer ended the post with, “I swear I love them… mostly.”
At the time, Duff was still a mother of two children, with the then-youngest at the age of two. She only welcomed her third child in 2021, a year after publishing her piece about motherhood on Refinery29.
The “A Cinderella Story” now has three children. She shares her eldest child with her former husband, Mike Comrie.
The former couple tied the knot in 2010 and parted ways in 2014. The actress met her now-husband, Matthew Koma, a year later, when they collaborated for her album, “Breathe In. Breathe Out,” according to Us Weekly.
It was not until January 2017, though, that Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma made their red carpet debut. It is believed that they split in March of the same year, although they rekindled their romance in October.
In mid-2018, the two celebrities announced their first pregnancy. Nearly a year later, the songstress revealed that the artist proposed to her.
Duff and Koma tied the knot in December 2019.
