Amber Heard Heartbreak: *NSYNC Lance Bass 'Reenacts' Johnny Depp's Ex's Testimony Amid Trial
Amber Heard recently gave her testimony in court amid her ongoing high-profile defamation battle with Johnny Depp. She, specifically her testimonies, has since become the subject of various memes and clips on social media platforms.
On Monday, former *NSYNC member Lance Bass reenacted a part of the actress’s testimony and took his “acting chops” on TikTok. Page Six noted that the video features her “description of the first time [Depp] allegedly struck her.”
Amber Heard says in a voiceover that they were “sitting next to each other on the edge of the couch.” The former boy band member acts out the scenario, showing him in his living room with a couch.
The voiceover continues that she “was just sitting there on this carpet, looking at the dirty carpet, wondering how I wound up on this carpet and why I never noticed that the carpet was so filth before.”
As this goes, Bass simultaneously reenacts what the “Aquaman” actress had stated in her testimony.
Upon posting the clip, the *NSYNC alum captioned it with, “in honor of the trial starting back up… Had to do it.”
Lance Bass is not the only TikTok user who has posted a video relating to the high-profile defamation trial, involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp.
BuzzFeed News reported on Saturday that the court battle “has already seen extensive coverage, conjecture, and memeing” on the social media platform. As cited, a viral audio where the actress recalls an incident of violence she allegedly experienced was used by over 17,000 TikToks last week.
It pointed out, though, that advocates of domestic abuse have something to say about the matter. As stated, many of them assert that the trending videos are “triggering for survivors to see when casually scrolling” the platform.
One netizen even reportedly commented that all the "Depp/Heard stuff is so triggering," adding that it is "everywhere."
Johnny Depp is suing his former wife, Amber Heard for defamation. This comes after the op-ed the actress wrote in 2018 for The Washington Post, wherein she described herself as a victim of sexual violence.
The “Rum Diary” actress did not name names on the piece. However, her former husband claims that it had affected his career and reputation, with reports adding that he has long denied the allegations.
The defamation trial began on April 11 in Virginia. Heard and Depp have already taken the stand, alongside former employees and family members.
