Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reportedly Deemed Balcony Appearance 'Not Appropriate' For Them
Queen Elizabeth II’s decision not to include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the traditional balcony appearance is not a snub. The former working royals reportedly thought it would be “more appropriate” for them to miss it.
The International News said that the claims were from Omid Scobie, a close pal of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He stated that both parties, the couple and the British Royal Family, have similar thoughts regarding the matter.
Writing for Yahoo! News, the royal author shared that the royal-born Prince had “spoken with his grandmother” about their potential absence at the Trooping the Colour. But, he and his wife were “very keen” to be part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Even so, it was said that they believe it would be best not to appear on the balcony because they are no longer working royals.
The discussions regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s balcony appearance have become apparent these past few days. It all comes after Buckingham Palace announced that only senior working royals will join Queen Elizabeth II to take part in the tradition.
Following the announcement, which surfaced earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed their return to the United Kingdom for the British Monarch’s historic celebrations this year. A spokesperson for the pair noted that their two children, who currently reside in the United States, will also fly with them.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield recently shared her insight into Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s attendance. She touched on the subject during a conversation with Express UK and described it as “surprising.”
The founder of the royal-based platform, “To Di For Daily,” went on to assert that there is a possibility that the royal-born Prince’s upcoming memoir is not a “scathing tell-all.” As opposed to what many people reportedly “feared,” the book is likely only “about a man who learned to live and love after the death of his mother.”
Schofield also claimed that she has always hoped for the book to be “more of a motivational” material “than a hit piece.”
Meanwhile, with respect to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, reports pointed out that the details remain undisclosed before the public. It is still unclear which events Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend.
Nevertheless, royal observers are seemingly closely watching as the pair’s attendance will be the first with their two children. It will also reportedly mark the first time for their youngest child to meet the rest of the British Royal Family.
