Meghan Markle Accused Of Being Tone Deaf After Wearing $48K Worth Of Wardrobe At Invictus Games
Meghan Markle was recently accused of being tone-deaf after she made an appearance at the Invictus Games.
In its May 9 issue, Globe claimed that Markle’s wardrobe throughout her three days at Invictus Games cost $48,000.
“The tone-deaf 40-year-old duchess, who regularly claims she grew up dirt-poor, continues to display her riches even when the event is the Invictus Games, a charity founded by her henpecked hubby to benefit wounded military heroes,” the tabloid said.
On one of her outings at the Invictus Games, Markle reportedly wore a pair of Valentino sunglasses priced at $125 and a $3,500 jacket from the same brand. She also donned Valentino pants that cost $1,540.
On another day, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly wore a $5,290 Ralph Lauren cashmere coat and $350 designer jeans. She was also photographed wearing a $3,500 black Celine jacket and a $2,800 Triomphe bag.
While it is true that Markle’s outfit may have cost $48,000, this isn’t necessarily surprising. After all, Markle is still a member of the royal family. And before joining The Firm, she also worked as an actress so she was used to dressing up in designer clothes.
Her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton also wears pricey outfits and not many people seem to take offense. This shows how the tabloid pits Markle as a lower breed compared to Prince William’s wife.
In fact, this isn’t the first time that this happened. On multiple occasions, the Duchess of Sussex was criticized for the exact same things that Middleton was praised for.
For instance, British tabloids slammed Markle for always placing her hand on her belly while she was pregnant with Archie. But when Middleton did the same gesture during her pregnancies, she was praised for being a caring and doting mom.
It is also important to note that Markle and Middleton have been pitted against each other for years. But there’s no proof that the sisters-in-law are still at odds with each other.
The only instance wherein the two had a misunderstanding was during the bridesmaid dress fitting ahead of Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding.
At the time, Markle was accused of making Middleton cry. But during her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry’s wife clarified that it was the other way around.
Markle also refused to go into detail about what happened because Middleton already apologized to her and even sent her flowers.
