Andrew Garfield Taking Break From Acting; 'Looking Forward' To Be 'Very Still'
Andrew Garfield is looking forward to a much-needed rest.
Speaking to People for its latest issue, the actor shared why he is taking some time off from acting. He even emphasized that he is “really happy and excited to be very quiet and very still.”
The 38-year-old actor, also, noted that it is “very important right now” for him to take a break, adding that he had “a lot of output.” Fans and followers would recall that he starred in multiple projects in the last year, including “Tick, Tick … Boom!,” wherein he received a Best Actor nomination from the Oscars.
Garfield stated that he has to “refill the well,” to allow himself to “authentically carry on.” He, also, acknowledged that “it is a privilege” to be able to consider taking time off.
When asked what influenced his decision to step away for a while, the “Under the Banner of Heaven” star appears to have credited some A-listers from other industries. He shared that he is “very inspired by Simone Biles,” adding that what the gymnast had done is “an incredible example.”
Andrew Garfield, also, named Kendrick Lamar during the interview. He asserted that he “admires anyone who can forgo the temptation of having to be always on the up and up.”
With regard to the activities he would do amid his break, the actor revealed that getting on a plane and going on a vacation “feels like too much.” He consequently pointed out that he just wants to “kind of be a person,” who lays down, thinks, and listens to music, or “be with friends and eat burgers.”
Speaking to Variety about his hiatus, Andrew Garfield said that he plans to “be ordinary for a while,” according to E! News. He, also, stated that he intends to rest and “recalibrate” what he will do next.
The announcement of Andrew Garfield’s break from acting comes weeks after his reported split from his girlfriend, Alyssa Miller. Us Weekly reported earlier this month that it can confirm the breakup, with sources citing “distance” and busy schedules as the reason behind the decision.
Following all the speculations, though, the two celebrities have continued to maintain their silence. But, the 32-year-old model seemingly addressed the rumors on social media when she posted a photo of herself with the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actor.
She did not confirm the status of the relationship, but she captioned it with: “if you must gossip, at least use a cute photo.”
