Prince Harry Would Not Attend Prince Charles Coronation If Camilla To Become Queen Consort: Report
Prince Harry does not allegedly approve of Camilla Parker Bowles becoming Queen Consort in the future. He does not even intend to attend Prince Charles’ coronation if this pushes through, according to recent claims.
Express UK noted that the allegations surfaced from a report in the Private Eye. It stated that a “red line has recently emerged,” adding that the Duke of Sussex “refused to bend.”
The royal-born Prince is said to have “no intention” of coming to the Prince of Wales’ coronation if the Duchess of Cornwall “is to be anointed and crowned just a few feet from where [Princess Diana]’s coffin lay in Westminster Abbey.” This is reportedly despite Queen Elizabeth II giving her approval and blessing to his stepmother becoming the next Queen Consort.
Expert Richard Eden shared the same report on his social media account on Wednesday. The post on Twitter has since amassed over 1,300 likes and more than a thousand comments.
Many netizens shared their reactions and sentiments in the comment section of the post. Most of the responses appeared to be critical of Prince Harry, especially regarding his alleged plan.
Some individuals even urged the royal-born Prince to “get over it” and “let go.” Others, meanwhile, asserted that Prince Charles “would be better off without [the Duke of Sussex] anyway.”
Prince Harry has been criticized, as well, for keeping silent about Queen Elizabeth II’s announcement, centering on Camilla Parker Bowles’ future title. MEA World Wide reported that many netizens slammed the royal-born Prince, alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, for not sending any congratulatory message to the British Royals in public.
While the former working royals did not share any statement about the matter before the public, it is unclear whether it was the same behind closed doors. No word has since emerged from the Sussexes’ camp, addressing or acknowledging the claims.
Earlier in February, Queen Elizabeth II released an official message to mark her 70th anniversary on the British Throne. In the lengthy announcement, she made her “wish” known that Camilla Parker Bowles will become the next Queen Consort “as she continues her own loyal service.”
The British Monarch, also, stated that she knows the public will give the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall the “same support” she has received from them “in the fullness of time.”
While Prince Harry may have maintained his silence, other members of the British Royal Family released a response following the Queen’s announcement. As noted, Prince Charles revealed that he and his wife were “touched and honored” by the decision.
