Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Urged Not To ‘Overshadow’ Queen’s Platinum Jubilee With Cambridge Royals Tension
A reconciliation among Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and Kate Middleton could possibly happen during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Such an opportunity could reportedly come at the monarch’s official birthday parade, the Trooping the Colour.
Ian Lloyd recently made the assertions to Express UK. He noted, however, that both the Sussexes and the Cambridges would need “to make an effort to be all out on the balcony” during the said event.
The royal author continued that the behavior of the four personalities should not be something “that would overshadow the occasion,” especially the Queen. He, then, shared that “it would be advisable [for the two royal couples] to be seen getting on” at the event.
Lloyd’s claims come after his earlier assertions that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, had an apparent tension, describing it as “palpable.” He pointed out that this was seen when the two royal couples attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in March 2020.
The expert outlined the “obvious tensions” of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in his newly published material, “The Queen: 70 Chapters in the life of Elizabeth II.” He asserted that the Sussexes and the Cambridges “more or less blanked each other” at the service, the last high-profile royal engagement for the two pairs.
Earlier last week, the Daily Mail reported that Queen Elizabeth II invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to “reunite” with the British Royal Family this June, according to Page Six. She allegedly wants the former working royals to attend her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the United Kingdom.
Should the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decide to accept the invite, it was claimed that they would not have a “formal role” in the weekend-long event. But, they would reportedly appear at some events, including a service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, as well as an appearance at the Buckingham Palace balcony with the rest of the British Royals.
The now-California-based couple has yet to make any comments regarding the matter. Likewise, the British Royal Family has yet to confirm the legitimacy of the reports.
The claims came days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s visit to Queen Elizabeth II in the United Kingdom. A spokesperson for the former working royals confirmed the matter to BBC, noting that the pair met the monarch as they stopped at Windsor on their way to The Hague for the Invictus Games.
Reports, also, stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex saw Prince Charles, as well.
