During Prince William’s first few days at the University of St. Andrews, Prince Edward gave consent to his production team to follow his nephew’s whereabouts. This move reportedly made Prince William furious.

The heir to the throne reportedly berated Prince Edward. And Prince Charles also demanded Queen Elizabeth to make Prince Edward choose between his royal duties or his production company.
Following the incident, Prince Charles and Prince Edward’s relationship became strained. St. James’s Palace also criticized Prince Edward for his idiocy and the behavior of his company.
Jobson also revealed that Prince Charles tore Prince Edward on the phone during their lengthy conversation. Prince Charles was certainly incandescent with rage following the incident.
Meanwhile, the royal family was already having doubts about Prince Edward’s production company even before he committed the gaffe. In fact, it was only Prince Philip who agreed to be interviewed by Prince Edward’s crew.

The Wessex's didn’t stop talking to the Sussexes and Cambridges to make sure that the tension between them won’t be highlighted in the press.
