Miley Cyrus’ Parents Divorcing Again? Billy Ray Cyrus Upset His Music Career Never Took Off
Miley Cyrus’ parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus are allegedly on the brink of divorcing again.
In its May 2 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Billy Ray has always been bitter about his music career not taking off. And this has affected his marriage to Tish for years.
Tish recently filed for divorce from Billy Ray, and this is the second time that this happened. In 2010, Miley’s mom also filed for divorce from her husband but she decided to withdraw the papers.
However, sources are saying that this time around, the divorce would most likely push through.
“Tish first filed on her own in 2013, but Billy begged her to stay, knowing a split would keep him away from his best chance for a sustained comeback – Miley,” the source said.
For years, Billy Ray has allegedly been trying to perform with his daughter. And they had some plans to collaborate before the pandemic.
“Then the pandemic hit and Billy Ray’s plans for a big concert tour crashed, and he was bitter about it,” the source said.
The insider claimed that this was the final straw for Tish, who became convinced that her husband has more focused on his ambitions than on keeping their family together.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.
Bill Ray isn’t rejecting Tish’s plans to divorce for the sake of his music career. There’s no proof that he isn’t on board with the divorce either.
Miley’s parents didn’t release a joint statement this time, but in 2013, they explained their decision to withdraw their divorce papers.
“We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We both went into couples therapy something we haven't done in 22 years of being together, and it's brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways. Tish also said marriage can be really hard, especially after 22 years of being in entertainment. We've had rough times but we both realized we didn't want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work,” the statement read.
As of late, Miley has not commented on her parents' plans to divorce. But the singer has always been close to both of her parents. The “Wrecking Ball” singer also has four siblings she can share this difficult time with.
