Prince Harry 'Protection' Comment Toward Queen Elizabeth Deemed Similar To 'Racism' Accusation
Prince Harry recently made comments about ensuring the protection of Queen Elizabeth II after making a secret visit to her. Royal experts have since speculated that he has made another “dig” at someone within the monarchy.
Cheat Sheet reported that one journalist believes the protection comment has similarities with the racism accusation the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously made during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Richard Eden made the assertions on a recent episode of Mail Plus’ “Palace Confidential” show. He said that the racism accusation “was left hanging,” making it “so damaging” as it led “to all sorts of speculations, and has ever since.”
He noted that this has happened once again with the recent protection comment. He rhetorically asked what Prince Harry meant by “protection” and who he was implying to have not looked after Queen Elizabeth II.
Eden, also, noted that even the Prime Minister has asked about the comment, whether “the protection [is] adequate for the [British Monarch].”
The assertion comes after the Duke of Sussex shed some light into his visit to the Queen in the United Kingdom. While he described being with his grandmother was “great,” adding that it was “so nice to see her,” he made a comment regarding the monarch’s protection.
He told Hoda Kotb in a recent engagement that he is “making sure” that the head of the British Monarchy is “protected and got the right people around her.”
The royal-born Prince did not, however, dwell on the details nor explain who these “right people” are.
Another royal expert weighed in on the comment, as well. As stated, it appears to be a “dig at some of the senior advisers to the Queen.”
Speaking to Pandora Forsyth of the “Royal Roundup,” Richard Palmer claimed that Prince Harry’s desire to “protect” Queen Elizabeth II “could come from a place of ‘bitterness,’” according to Express UK. For him, it seemingly came after Meghan Markle opened up about not getting support from the family when they were still working royals.
The expert, then, noted that the comment has “left people wondering who he is talking about, and what he means.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle passed through the United Kingdom on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. TODAY said that the pair, who stepped back from their royal posts in 2020, paid a surprise visit to Queen Elizabeth II last week.
Aside from the British Monarch, the former working royals, also, reportedly visited Prince Charles, as well as Camilla Parker Bowles. They were said to have flown out of Los Angeles without their two children.
