Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt 'Were Absolutely Sure' About Relationship Ahead 2014 Wedding
Angelina Jolie once shared that she and Brad Pitt were “absolutely sure” of their relationship.
Cheat Sheet recalled that the assertions came as the two high-profile celebrities had tied the knot after years of being together. As noted, the parents of six made their relationship “legal for a reason.”
Speaking in an engagement, Jolie revealed that the wedding was them “agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together.” She emphasized that it was not because they had to nor because anything was missing in their lives.
The actress, then, explained that it was because they “were absolutely sure” about themselves feeling “like that much of a family.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wedded at their home in France in August 2014. It came two years after they confirmed their engagement, which they referred to as a “promise for the future.”
Prior to having wedding plans, the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” lead stars had already begun their family, starting with their first pregnancy in late 2005. During the same period when they welcomed their firstborn, Pitt formally adopted Jolie’s son and daughter, who consequently took the surname “Jolie-Pitt.”
In 2007, the “Maleficent” actress adopted another son, and her then-partner followed suit in 2008. In July of the same year, they welcomed their twins, making them parents of six children.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt first met on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2004. At the time, the actor was still married to Jennifer Aniston, with whom he tied the knot in 2000.
The chemistry between Pitt and Jolie was said to be “undeniable,” leading to the rumors that they had begun an affair during the filming of their movie, which came out in 2005. In January of the same year, Aniston and her then-husband announced their official separation, with the former filing for divorce two months later.
In the months that followed, witnesses reportedly spotted the “Eternals” actress with the “Troy” actor vacationing abroad. But, it was not until earlier in 2006 that they confirmed the relationship upon announcing their first pregnancy.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s marriage ended in September 2016. Us Weekly said that the “Tomb Raider” star filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She, also, requested sole custody of their six children. This, then, started the tumultuous battle between her and the “Ad Astra” actor that continues up to date.
In April 2019, Pitt and Jolie filed for a bifurcated judgment, causing them to be deemed legally single. But, the divorce proceedings continued, and it has since been ongoing.
