Jennifer Lopez had nothing but good words for her former husband, Marc Anthony. Over the years, she has shared details about her marriage to the musician, even crediting him for some of the things she has today.

Cheat Sheet recalled JLo’s heartwarming remarks about the father of her children even after their split. It went even as far back as 2013, two years after they parted ways.

Lopez opened up in an interview with Cosmopolitan and revealed how Anthony helped her feel secure about herself. She even reportedly credited the award-winning artist for the “confidence” she needed.

A year later, Jennifer Lopez dropped her first-ever book, “True Love.” In it, the songstress went into detail about her relationship with Marc Anthony.

She recalled how reuniting with the “When I Dream At Night” singer was “perfect timing” following the end of her then-engagement to Ben Affleck. She, also, described the beginning of their tie as the “start of [her] fairy tale.”

Elsewhere in the material, the “Marry Me” actress admitted that the problems she had amid their marriage were not about Anthony or anyone else. She acknowledged that they were about her, adding that she discovered she had low self-esteem.

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez first met and reportedly briefly dated in 1999. The two artists collaborated on “No Me Ames” together about a year later.

In 2000, though, they went on to form new relationships and even got married to their respective partners. Anthony tied the knot with former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while Lopez with Cris Judd, and, later on, got engaged with Ben Affleck.

After their respective splits, they reunited in 2004 and got married in a secret ceremony, according to Insider. Four years later, they welcomed their twins and even renewed their wedding vows during the same year.

In 2011, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony shocked the public upon announcing their decision to split, deeming it a “very difficult” one. Nevertheless, the duo stated that they had arrived at an “amicable conclusion on all matters.”

Over the years since then, the two celebrities have remained on good terms, with the songstress even calling her former husband her “best friend.” They, also, went on to do more collaborations while co-parenting their children.

In 2014, Marc Anthony married Venezuelan actress Shannon De Lima. As for Jennifer Lopez, she got engaged with Alex Rodriguez in 2019, although they called it off two years later, and has since been reunited with Ben Affleck.
