Prince Harry Branded As 'Spoiled Brat' Following Absence At Service Of Thanksgiving
Prince Harry remains at the center of criticism after missing the Service of Thanksgiving for his late grandfather, Prince Philip. He has continued to receive negative remarks from the public, including royal experts and television personalities.
Express UK reported that one of these individuals is the outspoken broadcaster, Piers Morgan. On Tuesday, he blasted the royal-born Prince for not flying back to the United Kingdom to attend the special memorial service.
He appeared to have deemed the Duke of Sussex a “spoiled brat” who would rather “sulk in [his] Californian mansion than to be there to support [his] grandmother.” He, also, called the move “shameful” in a post on Twitter.
The post has since amassed more than 24,500 likes. Several netizens have, also, responded to the host’s post, with it receiving over 1,800 comments.
While many Twitter users seem to agree with Morgan’s assertions, there are individuals who appear to have defended Prince Harry. There are, also, some who centered their comments on Prince Andrew’s appearance at the Service of Thanksgiving, which took place earlier on Tuesday.
Others, meanwhile, emphasized in their replies that the Duke of Sussex will fly next week to the Invictus Games.
Earlier on Wednesday, royal biographer Angela Levin shared similar statements, as well, regarding Prince Harry’s absence at the memorial service. She rhetorically asked whether the royal would ever recognize his “appalling behavior” of being the only “major royal figure” not to attend the event, according to Mail Online.
Speaking to The Sun, the expert asserted that the Duke of Sussex does not “seem to have any broader range to care about things unless they are things impacting him and Meghan [Markle].” She, also, claimed that the former working royal has “changed,” adding that it is “difficult to know if he will even regret not attending.”
Levin continued that several royals outside the United Kingdom made an effort to fly to the country to be at the service. Despite this, the royal-born Prince’s “pathetic excuse is that he did not feel safe.”
Prince Harry did not actually disclose the reason for his absence. When his spokesperson confirmed his decision not to return to his home country, no other details were shared about the move.
It was pointed out in the same statement, nevertheless, that he would visit Queen Elizabeth II “as soon as possible.” But, as to when he plans to do so, no official word has yet to emerge.
