Prince William Takes ‘Dig’ At Prince Harry In ‘Unprecedented’ Statement, Expert Claims
A royal expert believes that Prince William took a “dig” at Prince Harry in his recently released statement.
Express UK reported that it was Angela Levin who made the assertions in an engagement with Sky News. It came after the future King of the United Kingdom shared an “unprecedented” statement, which seemingly concluded his and Kate Middleton’s week-long Caribbean tour.
Elsewhere in the closing remarks, the Duke of Cambridge said that he and the Duchess of Cambridge “are committed to service.” He emphasized that, for them, it means “not telling people what to do” as it is “about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best.”
The expert highlighted that the royal-born Prince is “right,” adding that the statement “worked very well.” She noted that Prince William was able to say “what he felt without telling people what to do.”
Levin asserted that this appears to be a “dig,” as well, at the Duke of Sussex, who has campaigned for various causes since exiting the royal life. She did not dwell on the details, though, as to how the statement was a “dig” at the youngest Wales prince.
People reported that the statement first surfaced on Saturday when the royal tour of the Caribbean neared its end. It described the remark as a “landmark,” reflecting on the future governance of the Caribbean nations.
Prince William stated that the tour has “brought into even sharper focus questions about the past and the future.” He, then, emphasized that “in Belize, Jamaica, and The Bahamas,” the nations they visited in the last week, “that future is for the people to decide upon.”
The Duke of Cambridge, later on, pointed out that this is “why tours such as this reaffirm [their] desire to serve the people of the Commonwealth and to listen to communities around the world.”
He, also, shared that it is not “who the Commonwealth chooses to lead its family in the future” that is on his mind. For him and the rest of them, “what matters… is the potential the Commonwealth family has to create a better future for the people who form it,” adding that their “commitment to serve and support as best [they] can.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton returned from their royal tour on Sunday. They, then, made their first public outing since the week-long trip on Tuesday to attend the Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey.
The royal couple arrived with two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. A separate report from People said that the two young royal Cambridges made a surprise appearance at the event to pay tribute to their late great-grandfather, Prince Philip.
