Meghan Markle Allegedly Thrilled She Won’t Be Reuniting With The Royal Family At Prince Philip’s Memorial
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be attending Prince Philip’s memorial service, but they have different feelings about the entire thing.
In its April 4 issue, Star claimed that Prince Harry feels bad that he won’t be able to reunite with the royal family at his grandfather’s memorial service.
His wife, on the other hand, couldn’t allegedly be more thrilled. After all, Markle isn’t ready to reunite with the royal family. And attending Prince Philip’s memorial would’ve been her first time seeing everyone again after two years.
“Meghan is relieved they’re not going because it’d be the first time she came face to face with the family after the shocking CBS interview in March, in which she accused the royal family of racism. Things would be very tense. But hopefully, Her Majesty will get to meet Lilibet one day soon. It’d be terrible if the queen died without ever meeting her great-grandchild,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that even though Prince Harry and Markle’s reason for skipping Prince Philip’s memorial is valid, the royal family is still not happy with this. After all, they feel that they could figure something out if the Sussexes really wanted to be there.
“Everyone thought he’d go for sure and bring Meghan and the kids so the queen can finally meet Lilibet – but he and Meghan think returning to the UK is a serious security issue,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, the royal family has not yet commented on Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to skip the memorial service.
So, it’s unclear if they really feel bad that the Sussexes wouldn’t be there or the tabloids are just saying this to make it seem as though the royals are still at odds with the couple.
Earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex said that he won’t be attending the memorial service for Prince Philip because of his issues with British security.
He revealed that he asked the British Home Office if he could pay for his own security detail when he’s in the United Kingdom, but they refused.
So, Prince Harry vowed to never set foot in the country again unless he has the protection that he and his family needed.
However, his demand was looked down upon by some royal experts who called him entitled.
