Mariah Carey Doesn’t Allegedly Have Plans To Wed Bryan Tanaka Due To Trauma Caused By 2 Failed Marriages
Mariah Carey doesn’t allegedly have plans to get married again.
In its April 4 issue, New Idea claimed that Carey still hasn’t gotten over the trauma she experienced from her two failed marriages.
So, even if she’s smitten with her boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, she doesn’t want their relationship to end up at the altar.
“Mariah says the drama caused by her past relationships left scars, but being with Bryan without an official piece of paper has been a relief,” the source said.
The insider claimed that Carey’s experiences during her first two marriages have been very different.
When the singer was with her first husband, Tommy Mottola, she allegedly felt like she was with a father more than a partner. After all, they had a 20-year age gap and Mottola was also very controlling.
Carey’s second husband, Nick Cannon, on the other hand, struggled with being faithful.
In her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, the singer shared that her and Cannon’s desire to have children was what brought them closer to each other.
But when they finally had kids, the responsibilities reportedly took a toll on their relationship.
However, Carey’s struggles during her marriages to Mottola and Cannon do not have anything to do with her current relationship with Tanaka. So, it’s unlikely for their failed marriages to impact the relationship she has right now.
As of late, Carey has not also expressed any desire to stay legally single for the rest of her life. So, it’s still possible for her and Tanaka to tie the knot one day. But the problem is, Tanaka has not yet proposed to the singer.
It’s possible that the tabloid confused Carey with Cannon because the latter was the one that said that he would never marry anyone else.
During an interview with People in 2008, former America’s Got Talent host gushed over Carey. But just a few years later, the A-listers announced their split.
While speaking with Us Weekly, Cannon explained that their egos and selfish behavior got in the way of their marriage.
And when he appeared on the ExpediTIously podcast, Cannon said that he doesn’t think he would ever be able to get married again. After all, the concept of marriage never worked for him.
But Cannon also said that he was faithful to Carey. But marriage is just not for him.
