Actress Jaime King Files Restraining Order Against Husband
Actress Jaime King has separated from her husband of 12 years. Not only has she filed for divorce but she also sought a temporary restraining order against the director.
According to Hollywood Life, the petition for divorce was filed on May 18 but it is unclear how long they have been separated. The couple has been married since 2007 after they met and fell in love in 2005 on the set of his film 'Fanboys'. Jaime King and Kyle Newman got married at the Greystone Mansion, which was where he also proposed. The couple had a lot of hardships when they were trying to get pregnant.
Jaime was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and that made it harder for them to conceive. Jaime had five miscarriages, an ectopic pregnancy, and even went through IVF treatment several times. Eventually, she was able to conceive naturally and gave birth to their firstborn, James Knight, who is now six years old. Her second son, Leo, was born in 2015 and she chose her friend Taylor Swift to be his grandmother. Their son Leo actually had a heart defect and had to have major heart surgery.
The Daily Mail reports that the two boys have been staying with their father throughout this quarantine. They are at Pennsylvania in his family home. Newman has been regularly updating his social media page with pictures of him and the two boys doing many activities together. They have been playing in the woods and would even go on fishing trips together.
It looks like the two have been having problems in their marriage for a while now. In September of last year, Jaime was already spotted not wearing her wedding ring. During the pandemic, they have been apart. Jaime is reportedly in California, while the boys are with their father in Pennsylvania.
When Jaime filed for divorce, she also included a domestic violence prevention petition against Newman. The filmmaker is reported distraught over what Jaime did as he does not know the reason and was also not given ample time to respond.
Nevertheless, despite the approval of the restraining order, the two boys are actually going to be staying with their father Newman said that his focus now is on continuing to be a solo parent to the boys as all he cares about know is their welfare and stability. He also hopes that Jaime will find the peace that she is looking for.
