Theo James began to rise to fame after debuting as Four in “Divergent” opposite Shailene Woodley’s character. In one of his previous interviews, he revealed what his first impressions are upon meeting his co-star.

Cheat Sheet reported that the actor spoke Games Radar at the time. When asked about his first meeting with the “Big Little Lies” actress, he stated he found her “very refreshing.”

He noted, though, that it was “slightly awkward” because they were doing a “kind of intimate scene” despite not knowing each other. Even so, he stated that Woodley was “really refreshing” and “very open to collaborating as two people and making the scene as good as possible.”

The publication, then, said that Theo James, also, gushed about what it was like working with Shailene Woodley on “Divergent.” He shared in the same interview that they “ground the work” when they were filming.

He continued that the “Snowden” star was “so great” at telling the story. Moreover, he deemed her “very emotionally intuitive,” who was “able to bring a truth to something, even in the craziest circumstances.”

In the years that followed, Theo James seemingly continued to share positive remarks about Shailene Woodley, as well as their bond, even after working on the “Divergent” film series. The same outlet said that the actor even admitted that he and his co-star had “good chemistry” from the first time they encountered each other.

James reportedly opened up about it in an interview with Culture Calling. He, also, asserted that he has had the “opportunity to see [Woodley] evolve as a person in a very wonderful way.”

The “Sanditon” actor consequently added that his friendship with the “Final Approach” actress “has grown in the same way.” He explained that it is a “good thing” because, apart from the time on set, they, also, spent months together “promoting the films all over the world.”

Theo James and Shailene Woodley played the role of Four and Tris, respectively, in the “Divergent” film trilogy. The franchise’s global success has allowed the two celebrities to achieve massive fame and breakthroughs in the industry.

These days, there is very little information as to whether they have continued to keep in touch. But, both actors have remained busy with their schedules due to their numerous film and series projects.

James recently bowed out from the hit period drama, "Sanditon." Even so, he immediately landed a new role in the second season of "The White Lotus."

As for Woodley, she appears to be working on a new series and two films. Fans last saw her on Netflix's "The Last Letter From Your Lover," which dropped on the platform in 2021.
