Meghan Markle Accused Of Copying Podcast Idea From Book: Report
Royal fans have reportedly raised some questions about Meghan Markle’s first podcast series with Spotify. Some netizens are said to have claimed that she likely copied the idea from a book.
The International News released a report on the matter, detailing the assertions. As noted, this comes after Spotify and Archewell Audio have announced the launch of “Archetypes,” a podcast series that the Duchess of Sussex will host.
Several individuals were reportedly “quick to notice” that the title of the material is the same as Caroline Myss’s published book, “Archetypes: Who Are You.” This, then, led them to speculate whether the former working royal plagiarized the work of the American author.
One commentator even allegedly went as far as to assert that the former actress likely read the book and “copied her entire podcast idea from it.”
It is worth noting, however, that “Archetypes: Who Are You” centers on the “ten primary archetypes” that the author says to have emerged in society today.
Meanwhile, the podcast series of Meghan Markle, “Archetypes,” investigates the “labels that try to hold women back,” according to Deadline.
As per the official announcement, she will engage with “historians and experts to uncover the origin of these stereotypes.” Also, she will have “uncensored conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape narratives.”
With regard to the launch of the podcast series, no official date has been shared yet. But, it is said that the first episode will drop on the platform later this year.
Several discussions have since emerged about the upcoming podcast series. Some commentators even talked about the alleged amount of money that Meghan Markle is getting for the first episode of the material.
Virgin Radio presenter Steve Denyer claimed that the Duchess of Sussex is receiving $18 million for the pilot episode of the podcast, according to Express UK. In his conversation with TalkRADIO presenter Jeremy Kyle, they seemingly “slammed” the venture, with the latter even calling it “useless.”
He noted that he would “never move from this opinion no matter how much trouble it gets [him] in.”
A separate report from the same publication, later on, released the result of its recent poll regarding the podcast. It asked its readers whether they will listen to Meghan Markle, specifically her upcoming materials on Spotify.
As reported, an “overwhelming 98 percent” of the respondents shared that they will not listen to it. The total number of readers who participated in the poll is said to be 21,035.
Only one percent of the data population, which equates to 285 individuals, reportedly answered “yes” to the poll. Meanwhile, 51 people are uncertain whether they will listen to the material.
