Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly “desperate” to stay longer in Jamaica. The assertion comes after the conclusion of the royal couple’s second leg of their royal Caribbean tour.

Express UK released a report on the matter, detailing what the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to say. As noted, the royals expressed their desire to spend “more time” in the Caribbean island nation in an Instagram post, which surfaced earlier on Thursday.

The future King and Queen Consort began by referencing Bob Marley. As stated, they have felt what the artist described, and it is the “spirit of ‘One Love’ that Jamaica has given to the world,” making the country “so special.”

The post, which has since amassed over 165,000 likes, also, features the highlights of the royal duo’s tour across the nation. In the end, they said that they “deeply admire [the] dedication and commitment,” adding that they wish they had more time to spend in Jamaica.

Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived on the Caribbean island on Tuesday. It is the second leg of their official royal tour, which began on Saturday.

Upon arrival, they headed first to meet the Governor-General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen, at his official residence, King's House.

The trip has been without opposition from the public. CNN noted, however, that demonstrations over official royal tours are not uncommon.

Before arriving in Jamaica on Tuesday, protests were apparent, particularly outside the British High Commission in Kingston. Demonstrators gathered and called on the British Monarchy to “apologize and pay reparations for its historical role in the slave trade.”

Some individuals reportedly chanted “apology now, reparations now.” As for others, they carried placards and posters, which read “apologize” and “let’s get current, let’s get rid of the rule of the Queen.”

The publication, later on, pointed out that Jamaica will mark its 60th year of independence from Britain in August. Some people are said to be “hoping to seize” the opportunity for the country to transition to a republic.

The second leg of the royal Caribbean tour may have already concluded, but the tour itself has yet to be over. Reports said they are set for a trip to the Bahamas, making it the last part of the overall engagement.

People said that Kate Middleton and Prince William are representing Queen Elizabeth II to mark her Platinum Jubilee year. She is reportedly “watching with interest” from her home at Windsor Castle.
