Robert De Niro has allegedly found a new love interest.

In its March 28 issue, National Enquirer claimed that the veteran actor has been splurging thousands of dollars on his new woman.

The couple has also been staying at luxury hotels in France and they have been inseparable since they were first photographed together in August.

“He’s going in deep and spending all his free time with her while splurging on European vacations, meals at the best restaurants, and designer clothes for her, along with jewelry and other gifts,” the source said.

De Niro and Tiffany Chen have known each other since 2015 when the latter helped the actor how to play tai chi in one of his movies.

But the timing of their relationship is being frowned upon by De Niro’s friends who believe that it’s too soon for them to get together.

After all, it’s only been four years since De Niro divorced his wife, Grace Hightower. And just last year, the actor was also asked to pay Hightower $1 million a year in alimony.

“Bob’s friends are shocked he’s being so generous with Tiffany because the guy’s usually such a penny-pinching cheapskate. He never treated Grace to so many luxuries, and they’re concerned he’s setting himself up for trouble,” the source said.

The insider clarified that none of De Niro’s friends are accusing Hightower of being a gold digger. But if her intentions are pure, they expect that she would say no to some of the actor’s luxurious offers.

“Bob’s all loved up now and he’s swaggering around like a man half his age. A lot of it has to do with that he’s scared of being alone. He just woke up one day and it dawned on him. But some feel he’s going overboard here,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. After all, there’s no indication that De Niro has been spending thousands of dollars on his girlfriend.

And it’s not also true that his spending habits are causing his closest friends to worry. After all, De Niro is an adult and he must know what he’s doing.

It’s also unlikely for the actor to spend way over his budget and limits. And as for Chen, it’s not true that she’s dating De Niro for his money.
