Gomez shared that they put on "a bit of tanning lotion and it looked beautiful" at first. However, as the night went on, "it kept getting darker and darker."

The songstress continued that she only realized it upon seeing herself in a photo, "and it looked completely orange." She noted that her first thought was to get out of here.

Selena Gomez appeared to have owned what happened as she poked fun at herself following the prestigious event. She posted a video on Instagram and joked about running away when she saw her photos, according to People.

In the clip, the "Wolves" singer ran toward her car in the parking garage, wearing her white gown. She even shouted "hurry" before reaching the car.

At the time, though, sources told the magazine that Selena Gomez "felt great" about her look that night, especially in person. She was only reportedly "clapping back" at the critics who had negative remarks concerning her tan, which is why she posted the video.

Nevertheless, the insiders revealed that Gomez "loved" the design of her custom dress. She was said to have two outfits to choose from and made the decision a day before the Met Gala.
