Prince Harry Slammed For Claiming He Remains In 'Immediate Line Of Succession' Amid Security Row
Prince Harry recently sparked rage after claiming he is still an “immediate” heir to the British Throne. He has seemingly utilized it as the basis of his argument that Ravec reached its decision “unlawfully and unreasonably.”
Upon learning the royal-born Prince’s assertions on his filing, royal expert Angela Levin expressed her fury toward the royal. She, also, questioned his chance of becoming King of the United Kingdom in the future, according to Express UK.
Speaking to LBC, the commentator revealed it “annoyed [her] incredibly” that the Duke of Sussex said he was in the immediate line of succession. She, then, rhetorically asked whether he thinks he still has the chance to become a monarch.
Levin continued that Queen Elizabeth II should “stand up to it,” adding that she has got to remove Prince Harry from being one of the Counsellors of State. She noted, in the end, that as an official counselor, he becomes a “stand-in” when the Queen cannot manage to fulfill her duties and responsibilities or is unwell.
The expert’s assertions come after the first hearing of the action the royal-born Prince has taken against the decision of the Home Office. Reports said it took place on Friday at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
Ravec, or Executive Committee or the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures, is responsible for making the decisions over the personal security of the royals and personalities in the United Kingdom. It answers to the Home Secretary and the details of its work remain out of the spotlight to prevent potential security risks, according to BBC.
The secret body placed Prince Harry in an “exceptional category” after he and Meghan Markle stepped back from their positions as working royals in 2020. This reportedly means that his police protection in the future would “depend on the specific circumstances” of each of his visits to the country.
The Duke of Sussex points in his claim that Ravec made its decision in an “unlawful” and “unreasonable” manner. He cited his offer to personally pay for the security, as well as his position in the line of succession, as the reasons behind his claim.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry remains the sixth person in line for the British Throne. He did not lose the position when he and his wife, Meghan Markle left the monarchy for the United States.
In the Sussex Royal website, they announced the matter, noting that the Order of Precedence has not changed despite their exit. Experts explained that this is because it is his birthright as the second son of the Heir Apparent.
