Sarah Ferguson allegedly has her eyes set on a new man, and it’s none other than Colin Firth.

In its Feb. 28 issue, New Idea claimed that Ferguson has been trying to look for a distraction from Prince Andrew and the latter’s sexual abuse case for months.

So, the timing of Firth’s arrival into her life was just perfect.

A source claimed that Ferguson is pitching a screen adaptation for her new novel, Her Heart for a Compass. And she wants Firth to be involved in the project.

“With everything that’s going on with Andrew, Fergie’s friends have been gently encouraging her to find a new man. She needs a distraction from all the horrible goings-on. A new job combined with a cheeky flirtation with Colin could be just what the doctor ordered,” the source said.

The insider added that Ferguson and Firth recently had the opportunity to see each other at the Pride and Prejudice premiere, and they were both smitten.

“Fergie thinks Colin is perfect for the role. She’s pulling out all the stops to woo him – both professionally and, if she’s lucky, romantically. Fergie would be beside herself to go to work every day alongside a handsome man like Colin. Having stood by Andrew for so long now, she’s decided it’s time for some romance in her life,” the source said.

As of late, Firth has yet to confirm his participation in Fergie’s upcoming project, but the latter thinks that the opportunity is fair game.

“There have been rumors for months that Fergie’s crushing on Colin, and she’s done nothing to deny them,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt because they seem to tackle two different matters that are completely unrelated.

First, the tabloid is suggesting that Fergie needs a distraction from Prince Andrew and his sexual abuse case that’s why she’s focusing her attention on Firth.

There are also allegations that the mom of two has a crush on the Love, Actually star.

On the other hand, the tabloid is also insisting that the two A-listers are linked to each other because of Ferguson’s upcoming project. Since she wants Firth to be the leading man in the book adaptation, they have no choice but to work closely with each other.

However, it is important to note that none of these claims are true.
