Prince William, Kate Middleton Allegedly Complaining About Prince Harry’s Request For British Security
Prince William and Kate Middleton are allegedly fuming after learning about Prince Harry’s request to have security while he’s in the United Kingdom.
In its Feb. 7 issue, Star claimed that Prince William and Middleton couldn’t believe Prince Harry’s request because they know that only heirs to the throne and their families have 24-hour protection.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are complaining that Harry and Meghan can’t have the best of both worlds. They chose to move to the US to do their own thing and it would be unfair to the other royals for them to get special treatment. They’re beyond fed up with them grabbing headlines for bashing the family,” the source said.
The insider added that the Cambridges and the royal family couldn’t help but think that it was Markle that brainwashed Prince Harry to ask for security. After all, she knows that the request will never be approved.
“Her friends say she’s not trying to pull the get-out-of-jail-free card by using the security problem as an excuse to not fly to London. But the royals think she has brainwashed Harry into thinking the same,” the source said.
According to the source, Prince Charles has also been convincing Prince Harry to just stay at Clarence House while they’re in the United Kingdom. This way, he can share his protection with the Sussexes.
However, Prince Harry allegedly denied Prince Harry’s request and insisted that they be given their own security service even if he needs to shoulder the hefty cost.
As of late, there’s no proof that Markle was the one that convinced Prince Harry to ask for security protection in the United Kingdom. After all, the Duchess of Sussex has no plans to return to Prince Harry’s hometown anytime soon.
It’s not also true that Prince William and Middleton are questioning Prince Harry’s motives for questioning the rules of British security. After all, they have stayed mum about the issue.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry launched a legal complaint against the Met Police and the Home Office. However, the organizations have yet to respond to his complaint.
It’s also unclear how the matter will be resolved but Prince Harry revealed through his legal team that he wasn’t granted security in 2020 even though he offered to pay for the cost.
The organizations are insisting that they cannot change the rules especially for someone who’s no longer considered as a senior working royal.
