Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson Allegedly Planning To Tie The Knot Because It Will Be Good For Duke’s Public Image
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are allegedly planning to tie the knot again.
In its Jan. 31 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that the Duke and Duchess of York still love each other so there’s no reason for them not to tie the knot.
And remarrying Ferguson will also do Prince Andrew’s public image some good. After all, he’s currently dealing with the sexual abuse lawsuit that Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed against him.
“They still love each other so they figure why not. It could be a good idea from a PR perspective. They’re also taking a punt that if Fergie and Andrew remarry, she might be able to invoke spousal privileges, meaning she doesn’t have to testify. But sadly for them that rule only applies in California, not in New York,” the source said.
This isn’t the first time that Fergie and Prince Andrew are rumored to be tying the knot again.
Last month, Woman UK claimed that the Duke and Duchess of York also got Queen Elizabeth’s blessing for them to get married again.
A source said that the queen always adored Fergie and she always knew that the Duchess of York and her favorite son, Prince Andrew are meant to be together.
However, the monarch had to downplay her support for the exes because of her late husband, Prince Philip, who disliked Ferguson to the core.
But now that the Duke of Edinburgh is no longer around, there are whispers that the queen will make the way for Prince Andrew and Ferguson to get married again.
In September, Star also claimed that Prince Andrew was begging Ferguson to get back together with him amid his sexual abuse lawsuit.
“Marrying Fergie would hopefully change some of the negative perception people have of him. Fergie’s popularity is very high, and he’s hoping that if she marries him, her good energy will rub off on him,” a source said at the time.
However, one should take all these claims with a grain of salt.
There’s no indication that Prince Andrew and Ferguson have plans to tie the knot. And it also seems unlikely for the two to even consider doing this right now when Prince Andrew could head to trial.
Ferguson previously admitted that her relationship with Prince Andrew is unique but they still love each other and that’s all that matters.
