19 Kids and Counting stars are allegedly divided amid the ongoing controversies their family is involved in.
In its Jan. 10 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that patriarch Jim Bob is at the center of criticisms after he portrayed the image of a saintly and God-like man.
His son-in-law, Derick Dillard recently exposed Jim Bob by saying that the latter lied to her and his wife, Jill Duggar multiple times.
Dillard also said that when he confronted Jim Bob regarding his lies, the latter acted defensively.
“When confronted privately, he is not humble. He is defensive and verbally abusive,” Dillard said months ago.
A source for the tabloid claimed Jim Bob and his loyal wife, Michelle could no longer count on their kids not to rat them out.
“Lies are being exposed. Jim Bob’s greed is being exposed, and the family has been destroyed,” the source said.
The source also said that some of Jim Bob and Michelle’s children have broken away from their strict religious practices. And they are also following in the footsteps of Jill, who accused her parents of withholding some of her earnings.
“Other kids are following suit, distancing themselves from the family or shying away from the public eye completely. Jim Bob seems to have lost all control. Michelle is beside herself,” the source said.
The Duggars are also divided when it comes to Josh’s recent guilty conviction. Some of them have already cut ties with the sex offender, while others released statements showing support for the judge the ruled in favor of Josh’s victims.
However, the siblings’ decision to slam their eldest brother in public was also regarded as a sign that the entire family is falling apart.
On New Year’s, Jim Bob and Michelle rang in the occasion with some of their family members that have not cut ties with them.
Jana Duggar shared a video from their family’s annual New Year’s Eve party. Her siblings, Johanna, Jennifer, Jordyn, and Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald were also in attendance.
According to Us Weekly, the family’s New Year’s Eve celebration came in the heels of Josh’s conviction. He was found guilty on two charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Josh currently faces 20 years behind bars and he’s also expected to pay $250,000 in fines for each count.
