Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship is predicted not to last.
In its Dec. 27 issue, Closer UK admitted that Affleck and Lopez’s reunion is one of the biggest shockers of the year.
After all, the A-listers dated over a decade ago, and they also got engaged. However, right before their wedding, the couple announced that they are calling off their engagement and when their separate ways.
Earlier this year, Lopez was still with her former fiancé, Alex Rodriguez. There were rumors that the exes were on the verge of a split, and in March, they released a joint statement announcing their separation.
Lopez and Rodriguez’s split was quite similar to Lopez and Affleck’s breakup. After all, Lopez and Rodriguez were also engaged for quite some time.
And out of nowhere, Lopez and Affleck started hanging out. There was no indication that the A-listers have been contacting each other because they both just got out of their respective relationships.
Since then, Affleck and Lopez have been inseparable. They have been photographed at premieres and other events. And they have also been spotted out on a vacation or during their date nights.
But no matter how loved-up Lopez and Affleck seem to be, their fans aren’t convinced that their relationship is for keeps.
“It didn’t work out the first time, so it won’t now,” a source said.
But a second source disagrees.
“I think coming back together later in life can work, as you’re both older, wiser, and you know what you want out of life. I didn’t like his recent comments saying his drinking problem was down to him feeling trapped in his marriage to Jennifer Garner and he’d still be an addict if he was with her. He has since backtracked, but it’s not fair to blame your partner and it’s never anyone else’s fault,” the source said.
Debbie Frank, an astrologer, previously told Hello! magazine that Affleck and Lopez do not have a big love for each other. And it’s possible that they got back together because they had an unfinished business from many years ago.
“Not being able to get through the tougher times is not exactly conducive to long-term relationships. It might be that it's just a wonderful idea, and they haven't been able to let go of the romance, but I'm not seeing necessarily that this is going to translate into another proposal,” she said.
