Princess Diana reportedly had a lot of dreams while she was still alive and she shared them with her good friend, Joan Hanger.
The dream expert spoke with New Idea to share the different dreams that Princess of Wales had, particularly about Prince Charles.
According to Hanger, there were times when Princess Diana dreamt that Prince Charles would never become king. There were also times when the late royal saw Prince Charles beheaded in her dreams.
Hanger said that this type of dream has a lot of connotations. The dream suggests losing one’s head or getting ahead. During times when Prince Charles appeared in Princess Diana’s dreams, the latter didn’t seem to know where her ex-husband belonged.
The dream expert said that these types of dreams suggest that there’s a dominance in their relationship. This was exactly the case when Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom was still alive.
Meanwhile, Princess Diana also had dreams about her own funeral. Hanger said that the Princess of Wales started having such dreams after she divorced Prince Charles.
During one of her visits to Kensington Palace, Princess Diana told her and her former royal butler, Paul Burrell about her dream. She said that she was at a funeral and Prince Charles was there. However, the heir to the throne wasn’t in his uniform but everyone else was.
Initially, Hanger thought that Princess Diana had such a dream to signify the death of her marriage to the Prince of Wales. She didn’t think that it was anything sinister or that Princess Diana was already dreaming about her own funeral.
Other dreams that Princess Diana had included seeing torn clothes and being lost. Hanger said that recurring dreams about torn clothes mean that someone might have been trying to tear her apart.
Dreams about being lost suggest that Princess Diana was losing her identity then. She was also struggling to find out where she was going and what her future would be like.
Princess Diana died in a tragic car accident in August 1997. At that time, she and Prince Charles have only been divorced for a year.
Prior to their divorce announcement, the Prince and Princess of Wales stayed married to each other for four years. However, they were already separated.
Their sons continued to live with Prince Charles at the palace. But they regularly visited their mom at home.
