Prince Andrew will allegedly appear in court sometime next year to defend himself against Virginia Roberts Guiffre’s allegations of sexual abuse.

In its Nov. 15 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that those close to Prince Andrew are worried that he would dig a deeper hole and implicate himself when he testifies.

After all, the Duke of York made a huge mistake when he sat down for an interview with the BBC shortly after the allegations made headlines.

At the time, Prince Andrew denied any involvement with Giuffre, and he also said that he didn’t have any idea who she was.

Queen Elizabeth’s third child also talked about a lot of other things in the interview that was not needed in his case. So, there are legitimate fears that he would commit the same mistake when he’s in court.

“Especially after the BBC debacle, aides fear he’ll end up digging himself into a deeper hole under oath. If Andrew inadvertently makes any incriminating admissions in his civil testimony, he certainly could face a criminal investigation regarding the alleged rape case,” the source said.

The tabloid also claimed that Prince Andrew’s lawyers have been fighting long and hard to keep him out of trouble. And they have also been trying to keep the agreement that Prince Andrew made with Giuffre in 2009 a secret.

“It looks a little shady that they’re so desperate to keep whatever was said about Andrew in that document secret. And the agreement can only protect him against civil liability, but it’s unlikely to protect him from criminal prosecution,” the source said.

According to the source, the queen is extremely worried about her favorite child. And she’s also worried about the royal family because they could no longer handle another scandal.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s still no confirmation that Prince Andrew will appear in the US court.

The judge has also been requesting for Prince Andrew’s representative to appear in court on his behalf, which means that the Duke of York may never make a public appearance.

Following Giuffre’s lawsuit, Prince Andrew’s attorney said that the alleged victim is just dragging the matter along because she’s hoping to receive another fat paycheck.

As of late, it’s still unclear which party is telling the truth. But Giuffre has a photo with Prince Andrew from the time that they met.
