Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall have allegedly agreed to bury the hatchet following the sudden death of their Sex and the City co-star Willie Garson.
Following the actor’s demise, Parker and Cattrall paid separate tributes to the actor.
Now, New Idea is claiming that the Sex and the City co-stars were affected by Garson’s death that they realized how short life can be.
“The grief has been devastating for Sarah and has pulled a lot of things into perspective for her, including her feud with Kim – who is also devastated and open to talking,” the source said.
The insider added that Garson always hated the fact that Parker and Cattrall fell out after several years of working together. So, a reunion between Parker and Cattrall just feels appropriate as a tribute to their late co-star.
According to the source, Parker and Cattrall settling their longstanding issues could result in the latter agreeing to reprise her role as Samantha in the Sex and the City reboot.
“Kim and Sarah are in the early stages of forgiveness. But there’s a lot of rewriting going on to cover Willie’s sudden death. So, the writers have room to include Kim if she’s willing to join up,” the source said.
Years ago, Cattrall said that she had no plans to return to Sex and the City after years of enduring a huge pay disparity between her and her co-stars.
At the time, Cattrall also said that she and her co-stars are not friends.
So, when the Sex and the City reboot finally got the green light from HBO Max, Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon were the only ones that announced their return.
As of late, there’s still no proof that Cattrall will return to the reboot. And it seems even the death of Garson wouldn’t encourage her to do so.
In fact, Cattrall even threw shade at Parker after the latter offered her condolences to the former following the death of Cattrall’s brother.
On her Instagram account, Cattrall said that she doesn’t need Parker’s love and support during the tragic time.
“My mom asked me today, ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this very clear (if I haven’t already). You are not my family. You are not my friend. So, I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl' persona,” Cattrall wrote.
