Queen Elizabeth has allegedly put her foot down with regards to meeting her great-grandchildren, Archie and Lili.
In its July 19 issue, New Idea claimed that the queen is tired of all the miscommunication between the royal family and the Sussexes.
She’s also sick and tired of Meghan Markle seemingly keeping her kids away from Her Majesty and the other members of Prince Harry’s family.
A source claimed that the queen had the opportunity to speak with Prince Harry when he visited the United Kingdom earlier this month.
“It wasn’t only a friendly visit, despite everyone trying to make it so. Her Majesty told Harry in no uncertain terms that he and Meghan were humiliating the family but also themselves by constantly sounding off about the monarchy and the royals and then pulling bizarre stunts like naming their newborn daughter after her,” the source said.
However, the insider also claimed that despite the debacle of Prince Harry and Markle’s daughter’s name, the queen wants nothing more than to meet Lili.
As such, the monarch allegedly demanded Prince Harry and Markle to bring their children to the United Kingdom in September when it’s safe for them to travel overseas as a family.
Meanwhile, royal expert Penny Junor also told the publication that Archie and Lili could be the key to healing the royal family’s rift.
“I would hope that the current rift will one day be healed and that they can all forgive and forget so that the cousins can all get to know one another. This is a heartbreaking situation, but I can’t see it happening anytime soon,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt for a number of reasons.
First, Prince Harry and Markle never banned the queen from meeting their children. The only reason why the couple can’t bring their kids to the United Kingdom is because of the pandemic.
If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to keep their kids away from the queen, they wouldn’t initiate regularly Zoom and FaceTime calls with her.
Second, the queen didn’t demand to see her great-grandchildren because this is an unreasonable request. Markle just gave birth to her daughter recently so it’s not safe for her and Lili to fly overseas just yet.
By the looks of it, the queen would get to see her great-grandchildren again when the time is right.
