John Mellencamp is allegedly struggling to move on from Meg Ryan, and it’s giving the actress the creeps.

In its July 5 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Mellencamp wants to pursue Ryan again even though he’s already in a relationship with someone.

Mellencamp and Ryan officially called it quits in 2019 after their on-again-off-again relationship. Shortly after the split, Ryan left New York and she moved into a $5 million mansion in Montecito.

An unnamed source claimed that Mellencamp has not given up that he and Ryan could get back together again.

“John’s been spending time in Montecito, near where Meg lives, jamming with friends, on the off chance that Meg will walk in the room and swoon all over him. Her friends just wish he would give it up and get a life – but he won’t. He’s even claiming he might get a house near her,” the source said.

However, the tabloid was unable to provide concrete proof that Mellencamp is still stuck on Ryan. And there is also no proof that he has plans to buy a house close to where his ex lives.

It is important to note that Mellencamp is in a relationship right now. And even though the tabloid claimed that his girlfriend resembles Ryan, this doesn’t mean that he’s still stuck on his ex.

Meanwhile, it is true that the exes have been in an on-again-off-again relationship for years.

In 2011, Ryan and Mellencamp began dating after the latter split from his wife of 18 years

Three years later, the couple also announced their split. And they said that their relationship didn’t work out because it was long distance.

Shortly after, the Sleepless in Seattle star said that she was taking a break from relationships.

Two years later, Mellencamp sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone, where he revealed that Ryan hates him. After all, he acts like a child and throws fits every now and then.

One month later, the exes were photographed together. And a source told People that it’s back on.

In 2018, the couple got engaged. However, they never made it down the aisle because they called off their engagement a year later and ultimately broke up.

Since then, the exes have not been photographed together.
