The highly-anticipated fifth season of Rick and Morty finally premiered on Adult Swim on Sunday, June 20. The first episode of the sci-fi animated series brings more exciting stories for the titular characters, while the second outing may focus on the fallout of the Space Beth.
Rick and Morty season 5 episode 2 is titled “Mortyplicity,” which suggests that the Space Beth might take the center stage. The promo for the upcoming June 27 episode teased a conversation about the clone, plus some of the characters potentially going to outer space.
It can be recalled that Rick created passable clones of each of the family members to protect and help them hide from the assassins. The arrival of Space Beth is something that was already teased before season 4 ended. This story will continue in the new chapter.
The season 5 premiere of Rick and Morty hasn’t mentioned the Space Beth storyline. Instead, it focused on the family dealing with a lot of problems. Her potential appearance in episode 2 implies that she’s still very much included in the narrative.
“Mortyplicity” may address what happened to Space Beth after the events that transpired in the season 4 finale. The animated series has just recently premiered, but most of the loose ends left in the previous installment will be tackled along the way.

In episode 1, it was finally revealed that Rick’s true nemesis is Mr. Nimbus. This revelation comes after he and Morty tried to make their way through an interdimensional space while running away from terrifying monsters. The ship was damaged and they crashed to Earth.
Eventually, they landed in the ocean which upsets Rick. It was soon revealed why he actually hates the sea – it is because of his sea-faring king of the ocean nemesis, Mr. Nimbus. Now, fans have been hoping to see more of his friend turned enemy in the story.
Mr. Nimbus commands the ocean by thrusting his hips. He is also capable of controlling the police, which was shown in the premiere. It would be interesting to see more of him in the current installment, especially with his connection to most of the characters.
Rick and Morty season 5 is airing its new episodes every Sunday on Adult Swim. The animated series is also available on Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV. The current installment consists of a total of 10 episodes.
