Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to the United States after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020. They’re now residing in California with their kids Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana. Now, a royal expert claims Queen Elizabeth II isn’t happy with how her grandson has become.
Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in 2018, and a lot of controversies have been tailing them since then. In 2020, they announced their departure from the Firm – which further ignited the rumors about their alleged rift with the Royal Family. They moved to the US shortly after that to have a more private life.
After leaving the Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a series of claims surrounding to Royal Family and what was it like when they’re still senior members. The couple discussed their mental health, as well as racism the time they’re fulfilling their duties.
The Sussexes have been living in the United States for more than a year now, but a royal expert Ingrid Seward said that Queen Elizabeth II was upset that Prince Harry is becoming more American. Yet, Her Majesty is said to have a more stylish approach when dealing with this matter.
In a report via The Sun, Seward said Queen Elizabeth II wants her grandson to be happy. However, she wasn’t pleased with his “American style” of suing every time things go wrong. She reportedly dislikes how the Duke of Sussex preferred doing this rather than taking on a different approach.
"Far more stylish to keep quiet and start making amends with the people you have loved and upset," the royal expert noted.
This news comes after Markle and Prince Harry denied BBC’s claims that they didn’t ask Her Majesty’s permission to use “Lilibet” – the Monarch’s childhood nickname – on their second child. The couple accused the publication of libel for making such a report.
Seward explained that the Duke of Sussex should have known that “stabbing the institution the Queen represents in the back” will lead to personal criticisms. But then, he and Markle still made a series of allegations against the Firm in the past few months.
Queen Elizabeth II, on the other hand, does not like any kind of emotional confrontation. The royal expert said Her Majesty wasn’t brought up to deal with such situations ever since she ascended the throne. Instead, she “allowed members of her personal staff to deal with contentious issues.”
Then, Seward discussed how the late Princess Diana approached Her Majesty with a “litany of woes.” She said the Monarch would leave the Princess of Wales in a vestibule to calm her down, and then she’ll face the inevitable drama later on.
As for Markle and Prince Harry, the couple is said to be blaming the staff of Her Majesty for blocking their meetings with her before leaving the UK. However, the royal expert noted that the Sussexes “seemed they failed to understand that is what courtiers do and have done for centuries.”
