It seems like time spent in isolation together because of the global coronavirus pandemic has only helped to bring Ben Affleck and Ana de Arms closer together, as the couple was recently spotted wearing matching jewelry.
According to In Touch Weekly, the 47-year-old Affleck and the 32-year-old de Armas were seen wearing matching necklaces with half heart pendants on different occasions. She was seen wearing the necklace almost a month ago, while Affleck was spotted just this Friday.
Citing an “exclusive source,” In Touch says Affleck and de Armas have become very close since they began filming “Deep Water,” a movie about a husband and wife hiding dark secrets. The source goes on to say that Affleck loves her accent and Cuban roots, while de Armas finds him handsome, engaging, and smart.
The couple’s relationship has been public since March when the two were spotted having a date in Cuba. They were then seen in Costa Rica and then Los Angeles. Once lockdown and isolation orders were put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, Affleck chose to be isolated with de Armas.
Since being spotted with the matching necklaces, online reactions have been more on the negative side, according to Glamour. One online commenter asked if the pair were still in high school, while another noted how cheesy the display of affection was. Another called it the worst thing they had witnessed, while yet another commenter called it a failed ploy to get the public to believe they are together.
Affleck and de Armas are just the latest celebrity couple to be brought closer together by the lockdown brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. Most recently, Lily Allen and David Harbour were rumored to be engaged because of a diamond ring spotted on Allen’s finger as well as an Instagram Live the two did.
Other celebrities have not had as lucky an experience while in lockdown. Stacey Solomon, a co-host for “Loose Women,” was also prodded about the status of her relationship with Joe Swash after her Instagram posts did not feature him.
After posting a picture of her boyfriend Zach Braff napping, Florence Pugh had to upload a video on her Instagram defending him and the age difference between the two of them, insisting that she was old enough to make her own relationship decisions.
Affleck and de Armas might just find themselves spending even more time isolating together as it does not look like the number of COVID-19 cases is going down anytime soon. According to the World Health Organization’s situation report for May 10, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases around the world is now at 3,917,366, with new cases making up 61,578 of that total. COVID-19 has resulted in the deaths of 274,361 people.
In the United States, the May 10 update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention puts the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 1,300,696 people, with total deaths at 78,771 people.
