Are wedding bells in the air for pop star Lily Allen and “Stranger Things” star David Harbour? Netizens are taking an Instagram photo and comment on Allen’s page as confirmation.
According to Page Six, a recent post on Allen’s Instagram page caught the attention of netizens. Aside from showcasing her abs, fans noticed the diamond ring on her left ring finger, a ring she may possibly have been wearing since December.
A fan asked point-blank if it was an engagement ring and Allen playfully replied by paraphrasing Brad Pitt’s famous line from the movie “Fight Club.” Allen hinted that the “first rule of engagement club” is that you never talk about it.
As E! points out, both Allen and Harbour were already fueling speculation after hosting an Instagram Live featuring both of them. A fan asking about album sales led to Allen asking Harbour “You think you married a pop star?” She immediately said that they were not married after saying it, but Harbour responded with “She is my wife.”
With coronavirus-induced lockdowns keeping people inside their homes, social media posts by celebrity couples like Harbour and Allen become even more scrutinized by fans and the media. “Loose Women” co-host Stacey Solomon, for instance, was asked about her relationship status with Joe Swash after he did not appear in a number of her Instagram posts.
Another celebrity whose Instagram post got scrutinized during this pandemic was Florence Pugh’s. The actress was forced to upload a video defending her boyfriend Zach Braff and their huge age gap after a photo she posted of Braff resulted in comments questioning their relationship.
A couple whose relationship is faring better during the lockdown is that of Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson. The secretive couple was seen walking arm in arm in their Malibu neighborhood. Georgia Groome’s pregnancy was also confirmed after she was spotted shopping for lockdown supplies with her partner Rupert Grint.
Being engaged or married will certainly help the two as they spend their isolation time together, especially since it does not look like the number of coronavirus infections around the world is going down. In the United Kingdom, there are currently 206,715 confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to a May 8 update from The Guardian. There are now 30,615 people who have died from COVID-19 in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the worldwide total of confirmed COVID-19 cases is at 3,672,238 people, according to the World Health Organization’s situation report for May 7. Fatalities caused by COVID-19 are at 254,045 people.
