There could be a new fab four in the royal family and it will feature the old, but definitely more experienced working royals. Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie Wessex, could find themselves collaborating more with Prince Charles and Princess Anne, two of the hardest working members of the royal family.
According to royal biographer Clive Irving, Edward and Sophie are setting out to do more for the Queen's bidding in 2021. If the Palace play their cards right, then the Earl and Countess of Wessex could make a very strong combination with the Queen's eldest children, Charles and Anne.
Irving said that Edward and his older sister, Anne, have so much depth and similarities. While he was hesitant to embrace his royal roles more than 20 years ago, the Earl of Wessex has since grown into this path.
Like Anne, Edward has become a dutiful royal who doesn't need all the media attention to serve the public. Irving said that Edward is "good at keeping quiet" and is quite an agreeable person to work with.
Sophie, on the other hand, has been dubbed as the Queen's favorite daughter-in-law. She has also been praised for getting so much work done without any fanfare.
Last week, Sophie was at the St. John Ambulance Care in South London to volunteer during the first morning shift. She was in basic shirts and jeans as she helped out with the center's vaccination and talked to the people who were waiting to receive their vaccine.
Her work earned praises from netizens on Twitter after royal author Dickie Arbiter posted that Sophie volunteered at the medical center. Some could not help but comment that Sophie's latest unannounced visit was the epitome of duty and service.
Meanwhile, Edward, the Queen's youngest, and Charles, the eldest, haven't had a lot of chance to work together before. But sources said that the royal family has been exploring the possibilities of the Queen's sons working with each other when the pandemic situation has improved. Aside from Charles, there's also his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall to help out with the royal family's work.
The only member of the Queen's immediate family who isn't expected to deliver public service is Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth's third child, since he has quit his royal duties in November 2019 following his sex scandal. Sources told Hello! that Andrew will not be publicly appearing during the Trooping the Colour parade in June but it's still unclear if he will join his family at the Buckingham Palace balcony.
