Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park is getting ready to start another chapter in her career as she signed on for her musical theater debut. Dara will take on a supporting role in the stage adaptation of Another Oh Hae Young or Another Miss Oh.
According to a report by Soompi, the successful tVn drama that was top-billed by Shinhwa's Eric Mun and actress Seo Hyun Jin will get the theater treatment with music from the drama's original soundtrack. The drama, which aired in 2016, revolved around two women named Oh Hae Young and a man named Park Do Kyung who developed the ability to see into the future.
Sandara Park will play the role of the ex-fiance Oh Hae Young in the stage musical, reported Kstarlive.
"We thought of Sandara Park as the right person for the role ever since we were planning the musical, Her image fits well with the character's image. We look forward to her growing up as a musical actress," an official for the musical said.
Sandara will not be the only idol who will be joining the drama because g.o.d's Son Ho Young, and MBLAQ's Seungho will also be in the play to portray the role of the male lead, along with Kim Ji On.
Meanwhile, the lead female role for Oh Hae Young will be shared by Moon Jin Ah, Shin Eui Jung, and Yoo Joo Hye. Dara will share her role with former STELLAR member Hyoeun.
Other members of the cast are Jeon Hye Sun and Go Eun Young, who will play Park Do Kyung's sister Park Soo Kyung. Her love interest Lee Jin Sang will be played by Jo Poong Rae and Heo Gyu Ga.
Rounding up the cast are Jo Eun Sol and Goo Joon Mo who will play Han Tae Jin. Oh Hae Young's mom will be portrayed by Jang Yi Joo and Jang Ye Won.
Appearing in a musical is another challenge for Sandara who top-billed her first Korean movie, One Step in 2017 after the disbandment of 2NE1. She immediately followed up her film appearance with a supporting role in the movie version of Cheese in the Trap where she shared the screen with Park Hae Jin and Oh Yeon Seo.
Dara concentrated on hosting and variety shows from 2017-2019 and occasionally collaborated with her former 2NE1 member Park Bom for her comeback track Spring and their duet First Snow, last year.
Dara's musical debut will happen in March 2020 at the Seokyeong University's Performing Arts Center.
