Demi Lovato is all set to shed light on an unpleasant moment of her life. The 28-year-old actress and singer revealed that she would discuss 2018's overdose incident and its effect in her upcoming docuseries on YouTube.
The series is titled Dancing With the Devil, and its initial two episodes are going to premiere on YouTube for free. The docuseries is slated to release on Mar. 23 on the musician's channel, while other episodes will release every week on Tuesdays.
The series is helmed by Michael D. Ratner, who has previously directed In Football We Trust, The 30 Year Old Bris, and Don't Sneak Into Piranha 3DD. The 31-year-old director has captured three years of the singer's professional and personal life.
The multi-talented star has started her musical Tell Me You Love Me World Tour along with the filming of this docuseries. Recently, the singer broke up her engagement with Max Ehrich after two months, and it won’t be surprising to see those happy and sad moments captured in the series.
The press release stated that the docuseries would shed light on the backstage of her performances, but it will also reflect on the singer's life before the traumas took place. It will also reveal the singer's mental, emotional, and physical health.
“It’s been two years since I came face-to-face with the darkest point in my life, and now I’m ready to share my story with the world. For the first time, you’ll be able to see my chronicle of struggle and ongoing healing from my point of view," she added.
The For the Love of a Daughter star further said that she is grateful that she could finally share this journey with her fans and followers. Ratner also explained that the singer was willingly ready to share the darkest secrets of her personal life, which will help the viewers to understand what she has been through.
Moreover, the viewers will also understand where the singer is heading in her life. The director further said that the singer supports women empowerment, and this docuseries will help figure out several answers.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Lovato is releasing her docuseries. Back in 2017, the singer has released a series after Simply Complicated, which marked her second last music album.
Lovato didn't release any other album after 2017, and in January, she returned with Anyone. Since her return, the singer has been getting a mixed reaction from her fans regarding her choice of political support.
