Taylor Swift has achieved another milestone this year after the carrier single of her “Evermore” album called “willow” dominated the most recent Billboard Hot 100 chart. Earlier this month, numerous fans were shocked when the American singer-songwriter released her second EP in 2020 – “folklore” was released on July 24, 2020.
This week, Taylor Swift’s “Willow” song dominated the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Following on the second and third spots are Christmas classics “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee.
Other songs in the Top 10 are “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms, “Mood” by 24kGoldn featuring iann dior, “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy William, “Positions” by Ariana Grande, “Dynamite” by BTS, and “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano.
Billboard proclaimed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” as the song with the biggest streaming gain while BTS’ “Dynamite” has the biggest sales gain this week. “Lonely” by Justin Bieber and benny blanco, on the other hand, has the biggest airplay gain recently.
Aside from “Willow,” Taylor Swift’s “Champagne Problems,” “No Body, No Crime,” “’Tis The Damn Season,” “Gold Rush,” “Happiness,” “Evermore,” “Ivy,” “Coney Island,” “Dorothea,” “Long Story Short,” “Cowboy Like Me,” “Marjorie” and “Closure” also made it to the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
If that is not enough, Taylor Swift also holds the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart. “Evermore” took the top rank while “Folklore” came in second in the same week. It is said to be the very first time that a woman has held the highest spots at the same time since the launch of the said chart in 1991.
As of Dec. 17, “Evermore” has already sold a total of 155,000 copies in the United States alone. “Folklore,” on the other hand, surged from No. 11 to No. 2 after its price markdown and promotion in the songstress’ official webstore. It sold a total of 106,000 copies in the same week.
Republic Records released the “Evermore” album on Dec. 11. However, the music label announced that the second album of Taylor Swift in 2020 would only be available as a standard streaming album and as a standard digital download album, including Apple Music.
