Ed Sheeran drops Christmas gift for fans
The beloved fans of the English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is currently rejoicing as he unveiled his new song right before the eyes of his fans on Dec. 21 (Monday). The song goes by the title Afterglow, released on an early cold morning, alongside a performance video graced by the singer.
People find that Ed's new track's performance video had him signatory play the acoustic guitar while singing about the sadness of love through the song.
Afterglow is the first solo music stint of Ed after becoming a father-of-one to his baby girl named Lyra Antarctica, whom he shares with his wife, Cherry Seaborn. The Shape of You singer and Cherry welcome Lyra to their growing family last August.
The aftermath of Afterglow
"We were love drunk waiting on a miracle / Trying to find ourselves in the winter snow/ So alone in love like the world had disappeared / Oh I won't be silent and I won't let go / I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow," part of the lyrics, as provided by Genius.
Fans of the 29-year-old singer could not help but express their delight towards their idol's new music release. But some took it quite a different angle: on top of the entertainment, fans are touched and stricken by the song's meaning and lyricism.
One fan quoted a line from the song where Ed sings of burning so bright with the love of his life until the darkness softly clears. At the same time, some took to Twitter by posting crying and sad emoticons and GIFs with Aterglow's lyrics on the tweet.
