Prince William and Kate Middleton made headlines recently after it was claimed that they will still celebrate Christmas with Queen Elizabeth.
In its Dec. 28 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that Middleton wants to save the queen’s lonely Christmas by surprising her on Dec. 25.
The tabloid claimed to know details from Middleton’s alleged plan and said that she and her entire family will head to Windsor Castle on Christmas Day.
Middleton will also cook a simple Christmas feast for the queen and Prince Philip. And her three children will give the queen presents, and they will also sing Christmas carols with her.
According to the tabloid, Prince William and Middleton will be defying the rules of the lockdown because they want to make the queen and Prince Philip happy. As such, they are also willing to risk it all.
However, the tabloid’s claims couldn’t be more absurd. If the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want to make the queen and Prince Philip happy, the one thing that they need is to make sure that the royal couple will always be healthy.
Since the queen and Prince Philip are at high-risk for COVID-19, it doesn’t make sense for Prince William and Middleton to defy the lockdown rules just to celebrate Christmas with them.
Earlier this month, Buckingham Palace also confirmed that the queen will have a quiet Christmas at Windsor Castle with just Prince Philip.
If Prince William and Middleton have plans to spend Christmas at Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace would’ve also made the same announcement.
According to People, Prince William and Middleton are supposed to celebrate Christmas with the latter’s family in Berkshire.
However, it seems that the Cambridges would have to change their plans and celebrate at Anmer Hall instead.
After all, Berkshire has just been placed into Tier 4 lockdown. This means that all households are banned from mixing. And overnight stays aren’t also allowed. A travel ban has also been introduced, which means that there will be no exit and entry points available.
According to the publication, Anmer Hall is in Norfolk, and the town is in Tier 2. This means that Prince William and Middleton can entertain two other households on Christmas Day.
However, all households should come from those classified within the Tier 2 region as well.
Meanwhile, Prince William previously told royal fans that his Christmas plans haven’t been finalized.
“It is so difficult. We are still trying to make plans. It's difficult to know what to do for the best,” he said.
