The BBC has launched an ongoing investigation into Princess Diana’s controversial interview for Panorama in 1995.
Back then, Princess Diana detailed Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ affair. She also revealed that she suffered from bulimia and admitted that she also became depressed after giving birth.
Journalist Martin Bashir was the only person who managed to squeeze the shocking details about Princess Diana’s life out of her system.
But reports have now revealed that Bashir might have tricked Princess Diana into giving the controversial interview.
Years ago, Bashir, reportedly, showed the Princess of Wales fake bank statements and other documents to convince her that her staff was talking behind her back.
So, Princess Diana wanted the truth to come straight from her mouth that’s why she decided to talk.
In its Dec. 21 issue, Woman UK said that Princess Diana’s death in 1997 could’ve been avoided if she wasn’t tricked into giving the interview.
Since Princess Diana became increasingly paranoid after she and Prince Charles separated in 1992, she couldn’t help but believe that her staff was conspiring against her.
And when Bashir showed her the fake bank statements, she became convinced that the journalist was telling her the truth.
As such, Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom decided to fire her protection officers and bodyguards.
According to the publication, if Princess Diana still had a bodyguard in 1997, the car accident that she was involved in could’ve been prevented.
After all, they would have made sure that Princess Diana wouldn’t be chased down by the paparazzi inside a tunnel in Paris.
Unfortunately, things didn’t end well for the mom of two. On Aug. 31, 1997, Princess Diana passed away.
Now, several years after her Panorama interview, Prince William and Prince Harry want to know what really happened to their mom and Bashir.
However, it is unclear how Bashir could come clean about the matter because he recently tested positive for COVID-19. The journalist also suffered a heart attack months ago.
But last month, the BBC said that they found Princess Diana’s lost note that could clear Bashir’s name.
Years ago, the same note from the Princess of Wales was already mentioned after a previous inquiry was made. But the BBC claimed to have lost the letter.
Just recently, they claimed to have found Princess Diana’s note and said that they will hand it over to officials.
But journalist Andy Webb told the Guardian that he’s concerned about the BBC falsifying the letter because they have a history of forging documents.
