Jeremy Bulloch died at the age of 75. The actor who portrayed Boba Fett's character in the original Star Wars. Lucasfilm confirmed the death took place in the hospital on Dec. 17 following health complications.
The actor has been battling with Parkinson’s disease for many years as per Bulloch's agent. He played the bounty hunter's character in Return of the Jedi, released in 1983, and The Empire Strikes Back, released in 1980.
"He spent his final weeks in the wonderful care of the staff at St George’s Hospital in Tooting close to the house where he and his wife Maureen had lived together for more than fifty years. Maureen and two of his sons Jamie and Robbie were with him during his final days," the statement mentioned on his website and actor's social media.
Moreover, it stated that the actor had lived a happy and long life on-screen. He has been known for his characters in movies such as James Bond, Star Wars series, and Summer Holiday. He also portrayed several characters in television series, such as Robin of Sherwood, Agony, Doctor Who, and Newcomers. Bulloch has been celebrated in various theatre productions in the West End.
The official statement further revealed that besides working on-screen, Bulloch was a talented sports enthusiast who would spend time playing cricket and football. He also supported several charities while one of them saved his own granddaughter's life, Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Bulloch was a devoted family man towards his ten grandchildren, three sons, and wife. The actor's agent also opened up about the death announcement and said that everyone is sad following the tragic news. However, he noted that the actor died peacefully while he was surrounded by his family members in the hospital.
The Market Harborough, Leicestershire born actor had a long career of 45 years. Meanwhile, his co-stars from Star Wars took social media to remember the late actor. Mark Hamill, who is popular for playing Luke Skywalker, said that Bulloch was an English gentleman.
The 69-year-old actor further said that his company was delightful while he was a fine actor to work along. Moreover, he recalled how kind the actor was towards everyone around him. Hamill also said that he would miss Bulloch deeply and be grateful to know him.
Other co-stars such as Billy Dee Williams, Daniel Logan, and the official Twitter handler of Star Wars also remembered the late actor for his iconic and legendary role.
