After Kanye West, it seems Kim Kardashian West is getting political. Yes, the 40-year-old reality TV star recently pleaded for Brandon Bernard's death sentence to stop and instead give him a lifetime prison sentence.
However, the request was rejected by the judge. Kardashian took Twitter to reveal that she cried all morning after she learned that Bernard would be executed. Bernard's execution marked the ninth federal in the same year under the Trump administration.
In fact, before Joe Biden, who was elected as president's inauguration, there are already four more executions planned this week. Bernard got executed in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the Federal Correctional Center for his involvement in the murder of Stacie and Todd Bagley, per CBS News. Kardashian disclosed that she spoke with Bernard for the last time on Dec. 10 in the afternoon.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said that it turned out to be her hardest phone call ever. She further revealed that the 40-year-old prisoner, a minor at the time of the crime, was worried about his family and asked if everything is alright. Moreover, Bernard asked Kardashian not to cry as the fight is not over yet.
"As he was in the chair, his attorney called me, and they just had their last call and said that Brandon said he loves you and wants to say thank you again. He said he doesn’t feel too claustrophobic in the chair," she revealed.
Kardashian revealed in series of tweets a couple of hours later that Brandon has been killed. The socialite noted that he was a changed person and always kept positivity till his last breath. She further said that he was regretful about causing pain to others.
The mother of four said that Brandon was glad that his family received support from people. However, Brandon was upset because his family considered him a shame, but the public support eventually gave him validation.
The founder of KKW Beauty also revealed that Brandon was lately into classical music, which helped him to feel peace. She also tweeted five reasons why Brandon should not be executed. Kardashian concluded her tweets by acknowledging the amazing person he became amid his prison time.
