Hollywood Life stated that the plot of Riverdale season 5 is about to change. With that said, the new season of the hit series revealed an all-new trailer that allows avid viewers a peek at the prom night drama.

The much-anticipated season 5 of Riverdale will return to home screens next. The trailer premiered on the series production's official Youtube channel, with a kick-off of the cast picking off where the story left them in the finale episode of season 4.

The new season will feature future events, but a celebration needs to commence before anything else—prom! As seniors, Riverdale's kids will gather for a night of fun and party via the school's prom night event, marking the senior year prom.

In Riverdale, drama and tension are always there despite the spending happening the scenarios are in. The trailer sees Veronica in full tears, as she uttered: "Something happened between Betty and Archie."

Veronica donned a gorgeous blue dress while overly thinking about how Betty and Archie went down with each other. However, it is unclear if she already knows that the two kissed, or maybe yes, as the look on her face shows so much pain and hurt.

According to People, the trailer dropped on Dec. 9 (Wednesday), showcasing the vital core of the series, namely Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper), Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), and Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones).

In a statement by the series' creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and as reported by Entertainment Weekly, the trailer is the preview of the first three episodes of the season. The first three episodes are in colossal connection to the last three episodes of the previous season.

The new season of the series will give prominence to the farewell of the cast Marisol Nichols and Skeet Ulrich, who acts as Hermione Lodge and F.P. Jones, respectively.

Riverdale season 5: release date, where to watch?

TV Line got the exclusive pass to take photos from the season 5 premiere of Riverdale. The outlet shared that the premiere will be on Jan. 20, 2021, at 8/7 c.

The CW network will air the episodes, but as for now, the number of attacks season 5 bottles is still unknown. A new episode is up every Wednesday.
