During an interview with 1010 WINS' Susan Richard Cuomo talked cleaning up NYC's subway system when he was asked to share his opinion about results of a survey conducted by Maureen Tara Nelson, and published in the Daily News that found that women are more interested in men like either the governor or his brother Chris Cuomo, who is a CNN anchor.
Noting that he did not see that, Cuomo told Susan that his brother is married but he is not, which means, he qualifies as eligible while his brother can be touted as someone eligible. Without missing a beat, Richard added that they both are single Sagittarians from Queens. He didn't need to look far for his next date.
Responding to Richard's remark, Cuomo said, "Sounds good to me. It all started in Queens, Susan." Cuomo broke up with his long time girlfriend chef and author Sandra Lee last fall. Before that relationship, he was married to human rights activist and writer Kerry Kennedy for 15 years. Since the pandemic began, Cuomo's popularity among women has skyrocketed, according to the New York Post.
Women have deemed his daily briefings on the crisis as their "fix." The governor's appearances on his brother's primetime show have also proved to be a big hit, with social media and TikTok teeming with videos of people expressing their crushes on the brothers Cuomo. As if that weren't enough, the hashtag #Cuomosexual was trending last month and even appeared on T-shirts.
Considering their popularity, it was hardly surprising to see the siblings' tie at the top of Nelson’s annual “Most handsome man in New York” survey, decrowning actor Justin Theroux. In an interview with The Post, Nelson pointed out that Cuomo's daily briefings make them feel safe amid the sadness of the pandemic.
Moreover, he has shown that he is family-oriented as makes witty remarks about Sunday night dinners with his three daughters. "Every woman wants that," Nelson explained. The governor has the entire qualities Nelson's clients look for, including being a strong man, intelligent, assertiveness, family-oriented and they all want someone handsome, the Long Island matchmaker added.
Speaking about an ideal match for Cuomo, Nelson said she needs to be a perfect blend of beauty and brains. Aside from that, she needs to be tolerant of the fact that he is a very busy and popular man. Nelson said Cuomo needs a woman who is at his level and he is so hard-working, he needs someone that loves him for him.
